A coworking hub solved the family's life puzzle

When the von Wachenfeldt Falemo family decided to move from Gothenburg, a location near the mountains was important to them, but so was access to office space for remote work. In Klövsjö, everything fell into place when they discovered the coworking hub Kollektivet.

It was the authentic winter experience and proximity to the mountain wilderness that drew Therese von Wachenfeldt Falemo, 46, and her husband Stefan, 44, to move from Gothenburg to Klövsjö. Since August 2025, the couple has been living with their nine-year-old daughter in the Jämtland village known as “Sweden’s most beautiful village.”

“We enjoy living here every day,” says Therese von Wachenfeldt Falemo.

However, it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that the family would end up moving to Klövsjö. Therese explains that at first they were considering moving to a city in northern Sweden.

– But we felt that if we were going to move anyway, we should move really close to what we really want.

A location near the mountains was therefore important to the von Wachenfeldt Falemo family, but so were a school, a grocery store, and good opportunities for remote work.

– When we found out there was a coworking space here, we thought, “Can this be true?” It was definitely a pretty big piece of the puzzle that fell into place.

Kollektivet, a coworking hub, is located in Klövsjö, and it was a deciding factor for Therese and Stefan when they were deciding where to move.

– My husband is still with the same consulting firm he worked for in Gothenburg, but now he’s based at the Östersund office. Commuting to Östersund every day would have been too far, but he doesn’t want to work from home either. So for him, it was really important to be able to work at Kollektivet.

Therese herself resigned from her job with the City of Gothenburg. Instead, she has started a distance learning program in water and wastewater management. She, too, spends one or a few days a week at Kollektivet.

– It’s really nice to be able to socialize whenever we feel like it. We’ve also gotten to know a lot of people in the village much more quickly by sitting here.

According to Therese, the social aspect is the best part of working at Kollektivet. She says it’s like having coworkers, even though everyone works on different things.

– That means coffee breaks actually become a real break from what we’re working on. Since everyone has different jobs, we don’t end up talking about work.

Therese also really enjoys being back in school.

– I like to really dive deep into things and learn something new.

Therese says that for their family, moving to Klövsjö has meant a better quality of life. She explains that simply being able to see the mountain peaks during an ordinary walk through the village is something she really enjoys.

– My husband and I usually high-five each other for having the courage to move here, and for how well it turned out.

As they prepare for their second summer in Klövsjö, the family is looking forward to discovering new favorite spots in the area, even though they already have a few favorites, such as the swimming spot in Klövsjö and the lookout point on their running route.

– We love being outdoors—running, camping, skiing, and biking. It’s so easy to do all that here.

For others who are thinking about moving, Therese advises them to take the plunge, but also to think about what they want to achieve by moving.

– If you’re looking for proximity to nature and the mountains, a small village is perfect, but if you want more amenities, a city might be a better fit.
