Hedlanda Airport

Hedlanda Airport in Vemdalen is one of the most beautifully situated airports in the mountain world, with Sonfjället as its backdrop. The airport is located just 7 kilometers from the village of Vemdalen and close to Björnrike, Vemdalsskalet, and Sonfjällsbygden. From here, it is also a short distance to Funäsfjällen and Lofsdalen.

Every year, around 90 private planes land at Hedlanda Airport in Vemdalen. Guests come here to hike, fish, hunt, or enjoy skiing in the mountains. The area is home to Sweden's smallest airport restaurant, which is open in the summer and serves café food. The flying club also organizes fly-in events in winter and summer, as well as camps for young people.

For those traveling by motorhome or caravan, there are ten parking spaces, four of which have electricity. There are toilets, showers, and trash cans. The area also has a motocross track run by volunteers—visitors can make a donation via Swish when using it.

Hedlanda Airport was built in 1970 and is currently operated by the Hedlanda Flying Club. The club consists of around 15 flying members and approximately 100 supporting members, who work together to maintain and develop the airport.

As part of the business community in Vemdalen and a partner in the destination company, Hedlanda Flying Club contributes both to the development of the destination and to local attractiveness.
