The hunting lodge is located on northern Skalsfjället, about three kilometers from Vemdalsskalet. Here you can enjoy a welcome break in the mountain environment with views, peace and quiet, and something tasty to eat after your trip across the mountain. Since 1966, the hunting lodge has been a natural resting place in the mountains, where the family atmosphere and tradition of waffles live on.
The hunting lodge serves crispy waffles, soups, and sandwiches, along with classic mountain favorites such as sausage with mashed potatoes and flatbread rolls. Those who want to warm up can sit down with a cup of coffee, hot chocolate with whipped cream, or a mug of hot juice and homemade pastries.
You can get here by snowmobile, skis, snowmobile, or on foot via the vessel trail. The journey up is part of the experience. The trail system continues further out into the mountain world for those who want to go further. The snowmobile tours start at the trail center at Vemdalsskalet and take guests up to the cabin. It is also possible to follow the trail on cross-country skis or with slalom equipment. From Jaktstugan, you can easily get back to the lift system via a groomed downhill run towards Hildings Backe.
