Winterlife is a unique shoe factory in Vemdaliahuset where the classic Luddan winter shoe is sewn by hand. The company is one of the few shoe manufacturers in Sweden with its entire production in the country. Wool serves as the base and gives Luddan its warm and light properties. Many describe the feeling of walking in the shoe as "floating."
The shoes have a spacious fit that keeps blood circulation going and keeps your feet warm. The design is timeless and all models are made from naturally tanned elk leather. In addition to shoes, Winterlife Vemdalen manufactures leather slippers, slipper socks, baby mittens, and storage bags in soft elk leather.
The collection also includes the Veman slipper with a Vibram sole and removable insole. This design makes the slipper stable and flexible for different uses. The products are available for purchase at the factory, from retailers such as Ekbergs Fiske & Fritid and Hotell Klövsjöfjäll, and in the showroom at Skalets torg.
The story of Luddan began in the 1960s when shoemaker Jonas Lundhag and his daughter Kerstin created the first model. Since 2020, the company has been sewing all Luddor shoes at its factory in Vemdalen, continuing the tradition in a modern way.
