Hede in winter – the entrance to Sonfjället
In winter, you can admire the magnificent Sonfjället mountain in all its snow-covered splendor from Hede. It is also through Hede that you drive to reach the winter road that takes you to the national park. You park at Nysätern, where you can put on your touring skis right by the parking lot and start skiing up through the forest surrounding the foot of Sonfjället.
If you would rather discover family-friendly cross-country skiing, there are four kilometers of ski trails on the golf course in Hede. After a day outdoors, you can take the opportunity to check out the cozy interior design store in the center of Hede. There is also a pharmacy, shoe store, and grocery store here. On the north side of Ljusnan, there is also a furniture store.
Many people who suffer minor accidents on the ski slopes may need to visit Fjällhälsan in Hede. This is an emergency care center with X-ray facilities and the ability to set minor bone fractures. However, if it is your pet that has come to harm during your mountain vacation, the veterinary clinic in Hede accepts emergency patients around the clock.
Hede in summer – golf and hiking
In summer, Hede attracts many visitors with its scenic golf course. Located right next to the Ljusnan River, with Sonfjället as a backdrop, it is easy to understand why it is considered one of Sweden's most beautiful golf courses.
Even in summer, you can start from Nysätern, which you reach by driving through Hede, to explore Sonfjället National Park. From Nysätern, the climb up to the bare mountain is gentler than if you start from the main entrance at Nyvallen.
