The Hunt for the Silver Reindeer

Last updated

Silverrenen takes you around to Vemdalen's rest huts on foot in summer and on skis in winter. By collecting stamps, you are following a mountain tradition and at the same time supporting the development of trails and huts.

How Silverrenen works

Silverrenen is an activity that takes place all year round. In summer, you can walk to the rest huts, and in winter you can ski along the trails. At each hut, you will find a wooden sign with a number and a stamp. When you stamp your card, you are one step closer to your goal.

To participate, pick up a response card at the tourist information office on Skalets torg. Once you have collected all the stamps, show your card at the tourist information office and you will receive the beautiful Silverrenen fabric badge.

That's why Silverrenen matters

When you buy the fabric badge, the entire amount goes towards the development and maintenance of trails, rest huts, hiking trails, and barbecue areas. The mountain area around Vemdalen consists mainly of private land, and the landowners grant access to their areas so that we can hike and ski. Therefore, consideration for nature, animals, and people is an important part of the experience.

The basic rules of the right of public access always apply: do not disturb, do not destroy, and do not litter. By participating in Silverrenen, you are helping to preserve the mountain environment and the trails for the future.
