The Howling Dog Farm is a family-owned adventure company in Vemdalen that organizes dog sledding tours in the mountains. The company is run by Jenny and Johnny, who have been working with dogs since the early 1990s. Johnny has been driving tourists since 1995 and has competed successfully in several long-distance races. Their extensive experience ensures safety and quality on every tour conducted with their Alaskan Huskies.
The business was previously located in Smedsta, north of Östersund, but after several winters with little snow, it was moved to an area closer to the mountains. Since Johnny comes from Vemdalen, the location was an obvious choice. Here, the snow conditions are better and the environment provides optimal conditions for dog sledding tours during most of the winter season.
