Vemdalsskalet-Varggranstjärnen hiking trail

A suitable afternoon or evening trip. The view of the mountains, a barbecue area and a fish-rich lake make this a popular excursion.

Start at Valle's cottage, follow the path that goes into the forest. The orange marked trail goes towards Varggranstjärnen, through holiday home areas, which sometimes follows the gravel road and crosses Karl XI's road. From there it is 1 km with a steep climb to the pond and the restaurant Varggransstugan with à la carte menu. The cottage is open some weeks during the summer, see vemdalen. se. In the pond there are planted noble fish. Don't forget to buy a fishing license. You get the best mountain views if you also go up Varggranshågna. On the way home, a steep gravel road winds down from the mountain. When you reach the parking lot, follow the connecting trail down towards Skalets torg, turn left onto Hovdedalsvägen and later out into the piste the last bit down.
